Sound/Video Designer & Musician

Aaron Collier was born in Prince Edward Island in 1981 and is an award winning multi-talented designer, musician, and digital performance artist. His composition, sound and video design work has toured throughout Canada, Ireland and the UK and he has 14 years of touring and performance experience throughout the world with his previous bands The Jimmy Swift Band and Scientists of Sound. He is the artistic co-producer of Halifax-based live art company Heist and is the co-creator of their lauded productions The Princess Show, NATION, FACE, and Princess Rules. HIs recent work on Princess Rules as a writer, performer and designer was recognized with 12 Merritt Award nominations including New Production by a Nova Scotian playwright, Lead Actor (male), Original Score, Scenic Design, winning for Outstanding Sound Design. The show is touring this Spring to Lethbridge Alberta to be a part of Lethbridge Pride Festival’s 10th year celebrations. He is the 2017/18 Designer In Residency with 2b Theatre where he has recently sound designed and co-composed the world premiere of their original work One Discordant Violin, also set to tour in 2018. Other recent design credits include I, Claudia (Felix Productions/Neptune Theatre), A Christmas Carol (Theatre New Brunswick), and Therac 25 (Unit 102 Actors Co). Upcoming work includes sound design for Hook, Line, and Sinner and Any Given Moment at Ship’s Company Theatre this summer, and the development of a two new original shows with his company Heist.
