Stage Managing the Arts - Stage Management Courses and Resources for Dance, Theatre, Opera, Industrial

The reality is still simple. Fewer Stage Management apprenticeships are available. In our present economic and funding climate, theatre companies are having great difficulty supporting this important experience and training. As a result, S.M.Arts has set up a trust fund to finance two apprenticeships a year, as soon as funds allow.

The Trust Fund is being created from the following sources:

• A percentage of entrance fees to special events
• Money raised at fundraisers(such as the closing party at the Conference)
• A percentage of the fee charged for any S.M.Arts product (such as a copy of the S.M.Arts Guidelines)
• Donations

As of December 2009 the Trust Fund has collected $23,610. Our goal is $40,000.
